“I have not yet begun to fight!” – John Paul Jones

with 30 comments

On 23 September 1779, Captain John Paul Jones’ ship engaged the HMS Serapis in the North Sea off Famborough Head, England. Richard was blasted in the initial broadside the two ships exchanged, losing much of her firepower and many of her gunners. Captain Richard Pearson, commanding Serapis, called out to Jones, asking if he surrendered. Jones’ reply: “I have not yet begun to fight!”
It was a bloody battle with the two ship literally locked in combat. Sharpshooting Marines and seamen in Richard’s tops raked Serapis with gunfire, clearing the weather decks. Jones and his crew tenaciously fought on , even though their ship was sinking beneath them. Finally, Capt. Pearson tore down his colors and Serapis surrendered.

Reflecting on our progress..

Only two months ago (before November 5th) Ron Paul and our freedom movement were polling at 2-3% across the nation. Now, with just two months of media breakthrough, we’re getting votes in primaries and caucuses at 8-10% and polling as high as 14%. We’re winning! Just imagine what we can accomplish in the days and months ahead.
I know that many of us were disappointed by New Hampshire’s results, but the establishment saw something different.. and it scared them. Why else would they renew their attack against Ron Paul with false smears of racism? I say bring on the attack. It’s publicity we won’t get otherwise and it’s our chance to show them who and what the freedom movement is all about.

“Political Judo”

Judo is the martial art of taking the energy of your opponents attack and redirecting it to work against them. If ever there was a master of political judo it is Ron Paul. This time Ron Paul needs us to join him in the art. Our job is clear, we must take these false charges of racism and use them to draw attention to the true meaning of Ron Paul’s message.
Ron Paul is asking us to join him and make FreeAtLast2008.com our largest money bomb yet. If the cheap tricks and pot shots of the establishment have angered you, you have the opportunity to use their dirty tactics against them. We will once again take the high road and the moral ground.. we will donate together and march together on January 21st, 2008. Lets make this our best effort yet. Please visit http://www.FreeAtLast2008.com and turn their attack into your victory.
“When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” – It’s an old saying but couldn’t be more true. This January 21st lets let them know that we are tough, we are the Ron Paul Revolution.. and we have not yet begun to fight!

  1. I just wanted to make shure that in the coming primaries we can get a real count of the vote! I have heard allegations of vote fraud in New Hampshire, and would like to hear more about it. I have a hard time believing that giuliani could beat Dr. Paul at this stage.

  5. If you need some ammunition for the peace movement people I created this site just for that purpose. I get excellent results with a flyer of the pie chart.

Dr. Paul was sooo right. We are “spreading our kindness throught the barrel of a gun.”

  6. Continuing to get the message out is still the most important thing. People respond to the message. Keep up the fight!

  7. It’s imperative that the appearance of voter fraud be thoroughly investigated and addressed where necessary . If not , why continue ?

  9. Dr. Paul was GREAT in the SC debate. If the campaign is doing anymore TV,… they should just use clips of Dr. Paul from last night.

  10. Constitutional government is the greatest experiment in human freedom since the beginning of civilization. The struggle in which we are involved is an attempt to reclaim it from becoming a hollow shell, a meaningless sham. The wealthy and powerful forces of subversion have much to gain by continuing to regiment and dominate the American political system and much to lose when the American People reassert their inherent liberty. This is a battle we cannot afford to lose, for ourselves or for generations to come. To do so would be to submit to a servility that our predecessors sacrificed to much to defeat.

  11. My family’s committment is not shaken by this, quite the contrary …it only proves that those in control of our government understand that We the People of this nation have the power to take it back from them and fully intend to do so. Remember, remember the fifth of November AND the sixteenth of December so that we will soon be free at last! Trevor, let us know how we can help you. We’re canvassing and calling and writing letters to voters in other states, but we’ll do whatever it takes to get this message of freedom out.

  12. I will keep contributing whatever monies and time that I have available to get Dr. Pauls
message out that there is another way to run America without the average American getting screwed. Keep up the good work. If Bloomberg runs as an independent, I think RP should also just to keep the message out in the front of people. Great job you’re doing.

  13. I wish you’d drop the next money bomb on rigged voting. Lotsa ideas out there on how to secure a true vote, but it’d cost money up front and it’s gotta be done fast. I just gave to the Granny Warriors.

  14. Thank you Trevor for your tenacity. I’m in 100% until Ron Paul says otherwise. So many people have sacraficed so much- its just way too early to get frumpy. NH recount… I think we should save our cannons for bigger targets.

    January 11, 2008 at 9:30 pm

  15. Kucinich is considering calling a recount, but under NH law, he has to pay for it. Have you thought about contacting him and having a recount money bomb to conduct a recount in BOTH parties?
Thanks for everything you do, Trevor.

I can’t necessarily vouch for the Granny Warriors, but I’ve watched their blogs and I bet one of your readers can vouch for their veracity… Now I can chip in and get back out to walking my precinct!

  17. […] Moreover, TeaParty07.com posted a powerfully written article by Trevor Lyman concerning the latest attacks against Dr. Paul in the media regarding the rediculous accusations of bigotry. These attacks are based on the writings of former contributors to Dr. Paul’s newsletter who were, in fact, bigoted—but who were also not monitored by Dr. Paul (which he has repeatedly apologized for). […]

  18. Great article, Trevor! Well said. I had to put a link to this article on my own blog just to draw more attention to its encouragement. Thanks!

  19. Trevor,

I’ll continue to stand with Ron Paul and his message for the cause of freedom. The ship that is sinking is our great Republic, and that I cannot let happen. With every ounce of my being, knotted muscles and eyes straining through sweat soaked brow, I will battle against the enemies of the United States to victory or until my heart fails! Last night after hearing Dr. Paul casting his pearls of truth to those vicious swine, a bright light of indignation overtook me, and with tears in my eyes I vowed to make his message heard even louder than ever! No matter how hard they laugh and ridicule, ignore or fight, the other candidates will never have for us what Congressman Ron Paul has: Hope. And that light of hope will never die as long as I have one more breath in me.

  20. Trevor, thanks for doing all of this. Nothing has changed. Those of us behind Ron Paul (I have been a fan of his since 1982) are informed people. We pay attention and do our homework. I doubt seriously, if on Ron Paul supporter is daughted by any of the attacks, mis-reporting and ridiculous comments given by media and the other “candidates”. When we watch the debates – the other candidates talk like gameshow hosts. It is all fluff. And in the news, the other candidates try to start sounding like Ron Paul (when their core constituentcies are not paying attention) ! Yes you other candidates. We have your figured out. The bottom line is – it does not matter what race, nationality, religion, or age you are — Dr. Paul is the right man for the job. Keep it up Trevor. We are with you.

  21. Trevor, I’ve been waiting for this email from you. Yes, you’re the man and you’ve got my vote. I will surpass my previous contributions on past money bomb days! Go Dr. Paul!!!

  22. Ron Paul is the only candidate in either party that is talking about root causes of the
problems the country is facing – causes that started back in 1913. All other candidates
are offering solutions (“changes”) that only mask symptoms. Different versions of old
tried and failed solutions. Ninety five years of entrenched root causes are going to be
very difficult to remedy. This scenario is similar to the medical/pharma pretending to cure diseases by masking symptoms and reaping hugh profits in the process. BUT, the
population is catching on to both — silent (and not so silent) revolutions are starting to take place.

  24. I’ve signed up for the FreeAtLast money bomb. I’m incensed over the false accusations of racism leveled against Ron Paul. He represents the antithesis of racism and biogtry.

The powers that be are threated by Ron Paul’s message and are now resorting to character assassination. In other words, we are winning. Paul’s message of freedom an limited government, when it is allowed to be heard, is resonating with the public.

If we can get an accurate vote count in one of the next primary elections, we might be at the head of the pack.

    January 12, 2008 at 4:34 am

  25. hell ya! I’m in it for the long haul! Just keep walkin the streets getting the message out! Take heed we have taken our biggest blow with the rehash of the racist b.s! Stand Fast! Stand Strong! I was down at the County registrar today in California and I’ll tell you at least 15 people were there to reregister as Republicans to vote for Ron Paul. I was truely amazed!

  26. I feel blessed that Dr. Paul has and is giving his all to deliver the message of freedom and peace. The topics now some are forced to acknowledge, have not been spoken about for so long that they sound “out of the mainstream” now. I am thrilled that I have a chance to do something to reclaim the United States of America. On the current trend, the voice of freedom will be completely shut out and there will be none in this country who remember what real freedom is. GO RON PAUL

  27. Did anyone notice that Sean Hannity had to admit that Ron won the the S.C. debate last night with 32% showing on the screen with second place at 26 or 28%? He said he just couldn’t understand it. That just shows how stupid and out of touch he, and most of the rest of them are with reality. He also stated that anyone there could end up being nominated, and then had to correct himself by saying, except Ron Paul. I thought it was hillarious the way he made a fool of himself with the evidence right there.

  28. Did anyone notice that Sean Hannity had to admit that Ron Paul won the S.C. debate last night? He said that he just couldn’t understand it. It just shows how far he, and most of the rest of them are out of touch with reality. After stating that anyone there could end up being nominated, and then had correct himself by saying, except Ron Paul. All that with the screen showing that Ron won with a 32% score and the secone place at either 26 or 28%. I thought it was hilarious the way he made a fool of himself with the evidence right there showing all the scores.

  29. Trevor, I want to appreciate you and your associates for all that you have done to make Dr. Paul’s campaign what it is. I am in it to the end. We haven’t begun to hear all the smears and obstacles, but if we all persevere and believe in Dr. Pauls message, this Revolution will shape the future of our great nation. Again, thank you for your dedication to this cause….it inspires so many of us.

  30. It is nowadays not important for whom people vote, but who is programming and controling electronic voting machines. If people of Missouri could “elect” a dead man over John Ashkroft, then an alive donkey can be elected over any candidate for any office. Wasn’t John Ashkroft rewarded with the Attorney General’s position for not making noise about it?
